The great tribulation of your life is putting up with WT nagging day in day out for as long as you are in and as long after you are out as they can muster into your life.

My refuse is collected once a week and it still hasn't emptied all the landfill the WT dropped on me - more invisible garbage than I ever imagined!

I heard this a few years ago. Don't remember if it was from a talk or from an email.

In any event ever since I heard this I refuse to buy any green bananas. I am afraid they wont ripen before the GT hits.

This came up a few years ago I believe. Oddly when I bring up any illlustratrations in the wt's then my jw says they are only artist illustrations not doctrine or to be construed as a 'truth' of any kind. When I brought up the Daniel rock thingy and the emails going around among jw's guess what he did? You got it! He promptly changed the subject! haha typical.

I've heard that before too. How stupid. These people are viewing the watchtower illustrations as "prophetic" yet they would quickly deny that the watchtower has set itself up as a "prophet".

Well - not that I think JWs are stupid, 'cause I don't, but... I found this funny in the context of the rest of this thing.

This comparison of the illustrations shows where we are in the stream of time and how close we really are to the start of the great tribulation. Our illustrations really do teach us!

-Namely the above. Seriously - the drawing shows us how close we are! No wonder he had to speak slowly. Seriously though, this all seems so insane when you get some distance to it, but remember that they believe it is God's organization, so to them it makes perfect sense that God would give us hints through both the text and the drawings. Oh well...

Just another trick to scare people into staying a little longer. They have also used stronger language, and pointed to that as an example.

They did that with the Revelation book. The "harlot" in the book was about to be attacked by the beast. Then, they had a Puketower study where the beast had already attacked, and that is showing us how much closer we were. By that comparison, we should have only had about another 2-3 years at most before the end came. Except, that was put out in 1988 (the book) and 1989 (the magazine). They are already 16 years late.
