Well, if they are going to be that strict on people visiting Beth Hell, that scratches that trip off my list. Instead, I will just go to a seance or some Devil worship meeting where such dress will be acceptable.

A few years back, a close relative was serving at Bethel. I went to visit and took my "worldly" sister with me. She was quite the hottie and worn a flouncy red sun dress, low cut and short skirt. It turned a few Bethel boy heads, but no one said anything to her. Good thing, too...

I'm speechless.

I remember being on a cruise and we met up with some from the congregation.
The cruise stopped in the Bahamas and there was a Bethel there. And some donned their suites on vacation so they could "tour" the facility.
It just seemed odd.
But to legislate dress is bizarre.
Also funny how they justify it with a few scriptures.
You could justify JUST AS MUCH for a counter argument for dress with OTHER scriptures...
1) The Pharasees enlarged their scripture containing box and the frills on the bottom of their clothes. (Then a picture of a dub with an extra large elder type book bag and a 3 piece suit in the middle of the summer.) (Put a big circle and X around this picture.)
2) Make sure of the more important things. (Picture of a dub berating his family to make sure they dress approp for the Bethel tour but a conecting pic of the daughter doing drugs.)
3) Men sees the outside, God sees the Inside. (Then a picture of a shiny dub in one pic with the same dub wacking it on Intenet Porn.)

This kind of brochure doesn't suprise me in the least! It is exactly the kind of crap they would spend their money printing!
The slacks thing drives me insane and I really laughed at rene's comment on why a woman would wear sneakers with a skirt anyway! That is so last season!
BTW you really shouldn't mind wearing your sunday best to a printing factory - their printing works are so spotlessly clean, there is no chance you would ruin your clothes - thats what they always brag about isn't it...

I think the last picture is taken in the top floor lounge of The Towers building where most of the GB have their penthouses. Real nice set-up, those doors open up onto a large balcony with views to Manhattan. Nice grand piano. I thought Bethelites signed a vow of poverty.

I love this board, being reminded about the continuing Dominance and control this Society has over the followers. I look back and remember that I used to be so naive as to go along with it.
Now it seems so ABSURD. They are treating Bethel like its a HOLY PLACE LIKE THE VATICAN. Touring the place is difficult and for me I couldn't do it unless I had running shoes on. I hope they provide wheelchairs.
I visited the Vatican 4 years ago and they have dress codes but not like that. Women have to have their arms covered and no shorts. Men can't have shorts either but they do allow casual.
Thanks for reminding us about things like this.
