Jehovah's Witnesses, Shunning, and Human Rights
    http://watchtowershunning.blogspot.com/

I don't have a lot of information there yet, but I'll gradually add articles in the future. There aren't many sites about shunning and none that I know of that are specifically about Jehovah's Witnesses and shunning, so I hope this will be useful.

Recently someone started to complain in the comments about how I use the term human rights. We have gone back and forth a few times. Here is the link in case anyone else wants to join in the discussion.

His comments caused me to do some thinking. I did a Google search for Jehovah's Witnesses human rights and discovered that my blog was the first critical site to come up. I have been getting some traffic with that search term, so I wonder if I am stepping on some toes. The Watchtower Society tries hard to advertise any persecution it receives, but doesn't like people to hear suggestions that they don't respect the rights of it's members.

If you haven't seen it yet, you might also like to take a look at my primary blog about Jehovah's Witnesses.

I think your blog may be getting traffic due to the recent challenge to JWs tax-free status in parts of Europe. I don't have the link handy, but basically, "charity" organizations have to prove their benefits to the public. I wish i had the link... anyone else?

To put the numbers of partakers of bread & wine into context, the average Memorial attendance is 174 persons in each Congregation. Only one person will partake for every 11 Congregations. In my view there is a relaxing of the 'rules' about who should partake because Watchtower literature states that many of the 'anointed' will see Armageddon. They will not be allowed to die off!

I have been reading this blog for a while. I have linked to it many times before, here and on another site, and also used the link in my signature. Great site. Just watched the Twilight Zone episode. Chilling and brought back memories of being shunned. I don't understand how the poster can say shunning is not extreme. When people are not allowed to see their grandchildren, children, cousins...and other family members...well, that sure is extreme to me.

very very good blog, man. If you can extend your articles beyond JWs and $cientology would be even better, but the ones you already have are very good. Keep up the good work and don't forget to always protect your identity (like the Anonymous guys).
