True enough. I just got home about 1/2 an hour ago from ours. Walked in, got hugs from some, ignored by others. There were far less in attendance than in years past and that's with two congregations----not just one. The Second School used to be packed in addition to the main auditorium. Not this year. In fact, I don't even think they had to put out extra chairs this year.

The talk was the same old boring crap that they have every year with them jumping around from scripture to scripture, trying to "prove" that there are two classes of Christians. The only thing I noticed this year that was any different, is that when they were passing the wine around, they actually described Jesus' trek to Golgatha and his execution. First time I've heard that in a loooooong time.

I found the whole thing very depressing, boring and cultish. The emphasis was all on "faith without works is dead" and that we all have to "exercise faith", blah, blah, blah if we want to get in to 'the New System of Things". So much for the free gift 'that God gives', eh?

Oh, I almost forgot the most exciting part! We're all invited to a "Special Talk" on Sunday, April 6th at the local Kingdumb Halls!! Aren't you just thrilled to death? Should be interesting to see how many partake this year. If it's not up to over 9,100 I'll be surprised.

Hamsterbait - I'm not dissing anyone and wouldn't incline toward such a thing but I do ask questions and maybe they seem testers at times but they are mainly because the same questions crossed my mind in the past!

Oh and I took a fair number of shots myself one way or another but I think all the ones I took - and any pain - are usually classed under the 'he deserved it title!'

No memorial for me and not a jot of thought toward it being the death of a son of god! I dont believe god would need that for any purpose he wouldnt make it plain to all humanity to know of! I mean plain to every human in every generation !!

I too just got back from memorial - said there were over 9000 partakers last year - it keeps growing

my 1st time at the memorial, it was lame. came to research more about the sect. so far i'm sure they are just another goofy religion and i'll not invest anymore time with them. thanks for all the pages of research here it is very helpful to a newbie.

im sorry but i have family there too and i cant see how anyone who knows the real truth could possible go listen to those lies. i guess when you are born again the Holy Spirit makes you hate false prophets. not the people themselves but the idea of the lies going around. yuck!
