Well as we are in the realm of speculation... I suppose speculation on the whats and whose is almost limitless. I s'pose Emergence might be a key.

Well no, but Im not so sure we are conscious to begin with.

Adam and Eve were conscious beings...right? but were un- conscious about their nakedness until they ate a certain type of died-out fruit. If I have to go with the Genesis fable, that is.
Is a dolphin a conscious being? A dog? A goldfish? An ant?
I would very much like you to define what a conscious being is and then we'll see what happens...
