How did you spend the memorial?

I attended, as I put it in an earlier thread, for both reasons that I accompanied my wife and that attending the memorial offers an opportunity to make the positive step of leaving aside daily activities, even though for a short while, to stop and reflect upon Jesus' sacrifice, which I wouldn't have done hadn't I attended . That being said, I found, as always, that too many prayers were told, so much so that the tellers didn't know what to say in the end, making up for some emptiness with more length and verbousity. I think that the memorial would be more dignified with fewer and, in some cases, shorter prayers, which would help make them more spontaneous. The talk was given by an elder who, maybe because he was young, felt obligated to display extra solemnity. He ended up emotional with that story which I can't believe was part of the outlines, about Jennifer- the- she-cat- that- took- her- kittens- one- by- one- out- of- her- burning- shelter- in- the- New- York-area- was- badly-burnt- but- when- they- read- the- story- in- the- papers- thousands- of- people- throughout- the- world- wanted- to- adopt- Jennifer- and- her- kittens. He went on saying that Jesus was so much more self sacrificing than Jennifer the she-cat. I was wondering how Jesus was feeling about His sacrifice being marketed so cheaply.

I drove past the KH on my way to attend a homebirth. Glancing at all the cars and everyone in their easter memorial finery gathered around the doorway, I offered up a silent prayer of thanks for my liberation. Later that evening, walking down a dirt road with my pregnant client, under the full moon, bathed in the scent of wisteria I was grateful for my ability to live an authentic life.

Easter Sunday, and I welcomed an 8lb girl gently into the world as her mother birthed her into my hands underwater. Life is good!

I ordered something from Christmas Mouse, and then slept. And, I worked that night. Better than wasting time and energy going to the Kingdumb Hell.

Well we were at my in-laws as well-all weekend. Laughing, eating, drinking, cussing, singing, watching videos and movies, and more drinking. Sunday - a wonderful easter feast, more laughing, eating, drinking, singing, hugging and kissing family. It was wonderful. My In-laws are God sent - Wonderful weekend.

Bearish, I think some people just need time to heal, I doubt that deep down any of us take lightly the special meaning of the day, took me 10 years to get through it, now I didn't do anything Saturday night other than dinner with my friend and his family, but sunday, my wife, my grandma and I went to Easter Mass.
