This sounds like a great opportunity especially if there are already 400 Witnesses planning on calling in and listening. Now that I have said it sounds great, I have a question about it.

Is that a "Witness" thing to prefer calling in with a phone and listening to a one-sided presentation? I understand what you are saying about the hundreds of threads about convention food, ice cream, funny out in service moments, etc. but why did they prefer this over a website that could stick to certain topics that they can post at and get feedback?

Just curious and STILL think your phone thing is a positive step.

I was contacted by this "Motivational" speaker before he DA'd himself. He sent the link to his Youtube page. There was and is still nothing about witnesses or his association with them on this page. I have the address if anyone wants it pm'd. I think he prefers to remain unknown. This seems unusual for someone who's willing to host this sort of open forum. I'm sure that those 400 involved are not active witnesses in good standing. I can see it as a self congratulatory session. I wonder how long it will take before the infomercial for the self help approach kicks in. Call me cynical but I just am when it comes to "helping" others. Sorry. I'm not sure about the number of "card carrying, time reporting Witnesses" who will be calling in to this conference. But, there will be I am sure, a mixture of people, including J.W.s, former J.W.s , and many that have been adversely touched by the 'tentacles' of the Watchtower org. It's my feeling that many older Jehovah's Witnesses truly believe that the internet is a tool of Satan the Devil and may find the telephone conference more inviting and easy to access. Telephones have escaped the 'hatchet' of the Watchtower and can give those using them total privacy. This is our "maiden voyage" and we are not totally sure what is going to happen but, it certainly is a great opportunity to hear what's going on in the "world of the Jehovah's Witnesses". As of today, March 28, the audience is rising, the conference provider is giving us only 400 callers. If you want to participate call early, maybe about 8:30 E.S.T. I've been told if you get on the line before the conference opens it will be like a large party line and you can talk with others before the moderators come on.

I believe we all have different methods in trying to help persons learn the truth about The Truth. Whatever way works is good. Since everyone has a different approach, the likelihood is greater that more people will be reached.

Quite frankly, most everyone has repeated something over and over again on these sites. So what??? I don't believe these folks are doing this for money. Not at all. And if folks like Simon gets ANY revenue for Google ads or donations or help in any way----good for him and anyone else that puts their time and effort to put the word out.

Will there be anyway to tape this for us to retrieve later, like thru the internet, as I have to go to a birthday party tonight. Otherwise, I would have wanted to sign up for the conference call. Curious.

Naturally I am a day late and a $ short or finding this out, was out to dinner last night with family and was studying a book on analyzing and interpreting literature and didn't get on here in time to learn of the call. Am anxious to hear from anyone who did get on and what was said or not said for that matter.

I found it interesting. He is a newbie out... But want to remain in the shadows.But Rick had interesting points also Docbob,Jay, a Shirley called was considered one of the 144,000 when a JW... It was the first run., But I suggest you listen in next time ( two weeks 9.oop.m. same number ) I wont get on next time as the lines were full So many couldnt get on. I should let others have a chance. But I say I think this will help many see that the 'truth " aint " what it is said to be.....
