I love old wooden boats, but I don't have the time, energy or money. I sail a fiberglass Contest. It's a dutch boat. It's got a manageable amount of teak. Washboard. toe rail, rub rail, cockpit grates -bout it.
Does anyone else here like to roadtrip?

are you sailing wood?
cleanest dirty comment of all time...
Most of the boats that eric farts around with in the boat yard are either fiberglass or metal. I think he has one wooden boat in there but they are getting really rare.
I told my wife when I graduate I'm getting my RZR when I get my masters I'm getting my sailboat!

wha happened?
my wife and I love it. I have a GTI that's modified so once we hit the desert on the way to vegas I hit 100+ speeds and enjoy the view. It eats gas like a hungry 70's V8 but who cares

Yeah I remember the good ol days when gas could be bought for 88 cents a gallon. We were road trippin FOOLS back then we put 30k a year on our car! Now we have kids and gas is 3plus a gallon and we don't go near as much...

I live in Colorado, and I've driven to California several times ( I have family there). My BF and I have gone to Iowa and Kansas 3 times on antique buying trips (we both have antique shops).
