Sorry didnt mean to do that. I read some of the comments on here and I understand where some people are coming from, but I dont understand alot either. Im a JW backer on alot of things. I dont go to the meetings anymore though.
I know you all have a problem with the heaven and true christians on a paradise earth subject. I know you all have your own beliefs on how to be saved. I know you think Jws way of thinking is hard to understand, but to me other peoples reasoning is hard for me to understand as well.
For example. Some dont go to any church and tell me just as long as you believe in god your fine. Others say if you pray to be saved youre automatically saved. Ive also heard that if you are a good person and do good for people your fine as well.
Now Im not here to say that the Jws are right but one question that I have is if you do believe in Jesus and you believe he died for our sins dont you think a little more is expected of people because 99percent of people I talk to give me these responses. To me its not enough to say well I done good deeds, prayed, and that should be enough for someone who died for our sins. No matter what religion your from.

That is the biggest problem isn't it? Everyone thinks they know the "way", how to assure "salvation". What makes me giggle is people worrying about how they can win the favor of the divine "father" by acts of any kind. Hello, if "God" does exist, do you really think he would favor one kid over another? Do parents of more than one child, say, hmm, push come to shove, A is more well behaved and kisses my butt better, so yeah, If I had to save one, that would be the one. Come on..........this is the cause for so much hate and judgement in the world, people read a book, supposedly inspired by god, completely bastardize it and then think they have the "answers".
Last time I checked, there was no proof that a God is either around or gives a hoot if he/she/it is. Wouldn't humanity be alot better off worrying about how to treat our fellow man better and less about what is required by some invisible "god" to assure he doesn't destroy or roast our butts because we don't meet his/her/it's standards?? Personally I am really not a fan of a God who says in one part of his holy book, forgiveness is a free gift of him and then at another part in his book says he'll rain down firey destruction on any who don't kiss his royal...................
I'll take my chances with worrying about what I can control, how I treat others, what kind of mother I am to my kids...versus worrying about appeasing something no one knows exists or does not exist. And on a JW note, they committ more than one biblical cardinal sin..so I wouldn't be looking to them for an example to appease "god" if I was ever going to try. They are, after all, masters at removing the splinter from their brother's eye, while ignoring the big a$$ timber in their own. Pride comes before a fall, when you state you have all the answers and you are right, everyone else is wrong, you better pad your butt well, cause a fall is coming your way.

BR25 - hi - for me it's not enough that Jesus died for your sins so there you go - for me that let's people feel they can sin again and again and again, they let go of their responsiblity and put it at the foot of the cross so to speak.
Then again I don't believe what most christians do about Jesus - I believe he showed us the path to our own salvation - each unique, if it requires you have to die (as he did) so be it. I believe in me, in my responsiblity, in my path (if Jesus existed as a real man, then he showed he attained his salvation and that if you have faith in yourself, in your god, in yourself anyone can attain it)
I was a JW for most of my life - now when I look back on the faith it wasn't even the doctrine that made me change my mind - it was the fact that 14 men sitting at headquarters didn't know what I needed spiritually - NO ONE DOES except for one person and that is YOU. Only you know what you need to grow spiritually. only you can figure out what your path of ""salvation"" (if you want to call it that) is.
Peace.

You must first have faith and believe in Jesus Christ. You must say the sinners prayer. Repent from your sins. Romans 10:9 is where you ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and lead your life. You are saved at this point and get baptised to show publicly your dedication to God and have God's Holy Spirit, which Jesus spoke about as our helper. The Holy Spirit helps you to understand the Bible.
The Holy Spirit also helps you pray to God and trains you in the ways of God. Once you have done all of this with a sincere heart you read your bible and study it day and night. Join a church and fellowship with fellow believers. This helps to build your faith and encourage one another. Matthew 28:18-20 tells us also to go out and make disciples so that others may also get this life saving information and live a glorious life as you will. It wont be easy you will carry your cross just as Jesus did but at least you know you can go to Jesus and his Father and ask them to increase your faith and strenghten you on your walk.
See the difference with being a christian and a jw is that you may go to Jesus Christ as your mediator to God. Not the wts. You do not need them to mediate between you and God. 1 Timothy 2:5 There is only one God, and Jesus Christ is the only one who can bring us to God.
Reading you Bible will reveal the truth,Jesus Christ, not the wts, and you will be set free knowing Christ.
You cannot do anything to earn salvation. Your faith is what is required. If you could do anything to earn it the Jesus died for nothing. Ephesians 2:8-9, You were saved by faith in God, who treats us better than we deserve. This is God's gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own. It isnt something that you have earned, so there is nothing you can brag about.
once you have gone through this process your heart will be moved to do good things, but just remember these things dont save you. You just want to serve God in all the ways he allows you. Live a peaceful God filled life. Only worship him. Put him first in your life. No one else for he is a jealous God.

putting God first also means putting yourself to the side. dont think about me,me,me. thats not what its about. dont think about your wife, husband, sister, brother think Jesus Christ Gods kingdom first. Then all things will be added to you. Be available to God at all times. You will be blessed and have patience, stay in prayer. ask God what does he want you to do. Sometimes it seems he is not there but be assured he is. God works in his time not on our time. Hang in there

What happened to Jesus saying, that if you do unto each other, it was the same as doing it to him???? The key to spirituality is your humanity not other way around.
