Thank you one and all. I had to leave the thread for work today, and I just want to thank you all for the postive posts. The main thing I want to do is to increase my longevity. With another year of my life being marked tomorrow it only makes me realise that life is indeed and actuality getting shorter.
As I said, I have never had any real health issues and to quit smoking is the smart move. I have tried a few times and like one poster said there will be a final succesful attempt.
Take care, and I'll keep you all updated my progress.

I've been cigarette free (well, I had one slip last summer, D'OH) since Dec 2005. I'm like many people that I've talked to that have quit smoking in that I can hardly stand the smell of cigarette smoke now. The slip-up last summer occurred when I was at a bar and had a pretty healthy alcohol buzz going, and I decided to accompany some smoking friends to the patio while they satisfied their craving.
I wish you luck giving up smoking.
