I was conseled by my mom the pioneer (at the time) and dad the elder about how I should not want to ride the roller coaster at Great America in Gurnee, Illinois named "The Demon". Yes, I tell you, dad's BFF (another elder) suggested it to him, and my dad thought it was such a great idea. So, I did not ride "The Demon" for a number of years until I left, but when I did ride it again, I rode it again and again (if the lines allowed).
This roller coaster is special to my heart, because it a reminder that I am free, I know, I know, cheesy but someone can relate.
I also got counseled for dancing all the time! I was just a bubbly kid who liked to dance and sing. In fact, I was so spiritual one year (Ha) that I only listened to the oldies (50s/60s), movies too. My parents were so proud .

Sorry, don't mind me I absolutely must mark this thread! carry on...
I got hauled into the back room for having Doors & Rush tapes in my car when I was 16 or 17. Ridiculous.
I know of someone who was counseled for having an infant crying. The couple would take the child out toward the 'back room" but that still wasn't good enough. They wanted the mom and child to sit there and at the time there was no sound system there. Crazy!
I know some who just HAD to say something negative just because a person never got a W on any point of counsel.
I've seen this happen a few times in the TMS. The school overseer, from the platform, would say: 'I notice that there are all 'G's' on your counsel slip. We can't have that because no one is perfect. So I looked and looked to come up with something for your to work on'... And he would pick some obscure counsel point.
Hey min... Didn't you have a family member counseled for attending the wedding of another close family member.
I know it's policy but I think it's ludicrous.

These happened in my teens/young adult years. By my early twenties I was outta there.
I signed up to aux. pioneer for a second month. Was told by an elder that I couldn't because my magazine placement had been too low the previous month. To be fair, he had a point. I hated FS and was very ineffective. I was only trying to do what was expected of me.
Our congregation had no regular pioneers. One day, lo and behold! we get one from the city. He was kind of young and wild but good friends with the PO's family. I went in FS with him and some other young people. I was scared to death because he drove like a freakin' maniac! Complained to an elder and my whole family was taken into the back room. Better not to complain about a pioneer.
I was the only JW in my school except for one. She was a couple years older than me . The problem was she was not baptized and was engaged to a much older, "worldly" man. One day she invited me to have lunch with her at school. She was very nice and we had a fun time together. Boy, did I hear about that! I think it was my mom who turned me in for that one. Interestingly, this girl never got baptized as far as I know and she is still married to the same guy 30 years later.
As I got older, I became less fearful and more outspoken. The elders mostly left me alone at that point. And then I left.
My close to 80 yr. old regular pioneer mother was ditched from pioneering after 40 years. just for going to my daugher's wedding.
