I don't understand why anyone believes they NEED religion.

I don't understand that either, Minimus.

I don't need religion. I enjoy the experience of spirituality though.

I love the experience of spirituality - and the idea of sharing it seems amazing but so far 0.

If a Witness were to say this to me, I would mention the Unitarian-Universalists; their "tent" is so broad that anyone and everyone is welcome. U-U is probably the only religion in which anyone, professing any doctrine whatsoever, would not feel uncomfortable. By the way, I'm not a Unitarian-Universalist, and this is not a "plug" for them. However, I know enough aboiut them to realize that they respect and tolerate all beliefs.

Wha Happened got it right! One has to establish the limits of the box (i.e. criteria) before one can engage in such a discussion. I would want to establish how one authenticates a claim even if limited to bilblical criteria before going further. Then again if the JW is willing to consider a broader paradigm then we just might have a fruitful conversation...I'd be happy to introduce him/her to a bigger sand box to play in! carmel
