So the all or nothing attitude about either science or religion would seem to be a mistake.

Neither science nor religion are all or nothing, but science and religion both have absolutist camps within them. Most of us sit outside and laugh.

I was in no way criticizing your first response,merely trying to add to it.I think you made your answer quite clear that

cold dispassionate science is such and such .I'm in your camp 100% !

That which pertains to personal self interests, reasonings, feelings, experience and expectation ! dictionary wise - I cant even time-out to bother right now cuz I think I feel its meaning quite well and here it is!
