I haven’t seen any specific comments on the latest “JW only” Watchtower (June 15 th ) so I offer the following brief notes to support what I perceive to be an increasing trend on obeying the FDS & stressing the publications.

Things From Which we Must Free

Par 11: “True Christians … have an obligation to warn members of Babylon the Great. One way they do this is by distributing bibles & related literature published by the FDS.” My comments: This phrase is being using all the more instead of “preaching the good news”. It strips down the activity to the essential task - that of placing more literature.

    Qualities We Must Pursue

Par 10: After quoting Rom 10:17 - “To attain & maintain strong faith , a Christian must keep mediating on the precious truths found in God’s word. The FDS has provided many fine publications. Three exceptional books are The Greatest Man who ever lived , Learn from the Great Teacher & Come be my follower.” …The Slave class also arranges for meetings , assemblies & conventions.” WTS puts its own publications on a par with the bible.

Par 16: “We must retain God’s word , keeping it alive in our hearts & minds. The NWT - an accurate , easy-to-read translation- available in more & more languages has made it convenient & possible to do so.”

Was this not possible before the NWT? Stress on the WTS “house” bible.

    Accept Jehovah’s Authority

Too many references to list - ironically the article describes cong elders as imperfect & fallible but neglects to state the same about the FDS. Usual references to Diotrophes , Jn 6:66 (where else do we go) , haughty & prideful attitudes , spirit of independence etc etc.

There is even a side article totally on how the NWT is the best Bible translation. Perhaps jws are venturing out and getting to wondering reading other translations?

The emphasis seems to be more and more directed toward worship of the "Slave" In my recent judicial committee meeting it was stated among other things that We need to be completely loyal to the "Slave" and it's teachings. I'm sorry folks, complete loyalty for this guy is to the Master, Jesus Christ, and him only. seek2find

The NWT - an accurate , easy-to-read translation- available in more & more languages has made it convenient & possible to do so

Yet it's been nearly 30 years since it was revised! Was it so perfect? Hardly.

Language changes ~ evolves ~ and so Bible translations are revised to keep up with current language usage.

But not the NWT it seems. So how is it so "easy to read" ? It could only be easy to read if it were expressed in current usage.

I am noticing that Jesus seems to have no authority. As for whether Christianity has any value, for a religion that professes to be Christian, that is quite weird.

And they do not teach Jesus' message. When I looked at the Bible from a totally unbiased prospective (and that means free of the mysticism caused from my Catholic religion as well as the witless mysticism), I found that Jesus' teaching was one of being free to do one's own thinking instead of letting others do it for us. When Paul wrote his letters, he failed to account for the parables being for bicameral people and not to be taken literally--hence, the source of the guilt and the rules.

Of course, the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger will never put out an article about that.

Hi - the June 15th edition is in wide circulation now amongst the faithful (& faithless) but my limited computer knowledge doesn't allow me to do a PDF edition - no doubt some boffin is working on it as we speak.

Don't see a NWT side article , Blondie. Maybe that is in the May 15th.
