The elderettes would go bonkers if they banned chocolate. Best not to rock the boat.

so what is the association, exactly, Badboy? There are many "things" with pagan ties...interesting that the organization rails against some, and completely looks the other way on a few (white wedding gowns, wedding rings, etc). -Potential

Badboy is spot on about chocolate. The word is derived from the Nahuatl - xocolati, meaning "bitter water." Chocolate was the central feature in Aztec and Mayan relgious rituals. It served much the function in Meso-American religions as the wine and wafers in Christian tradition. Of course, the Witnesses would argue that there is no longer any perceived connection between chocolate and pagan rituals. You could call it the "pinata exception"

edited to say: "much the same function as the wine and wafers in Christian religion."

interesting! I had no idea. I wonder if they had solid chocolate back then, or just chocolate water is what it sounds like...

It seems like everything originated with the Pagans. Adam and Eve, Jesus, Jehober. Where does it end.

Erm... covering your mouth when you yawn has its foundation not on aesthetics but on the medieval belief that when you yawn, evil spirits enter your body thru your mouth... can you imagine a WT sunday study if every JW didnt cover their mouths while yawning?????
