I am ashamed to admit that, other than maybe some influence in Caribbean cuisine (Trinidad, Jamaica), I am almost totally ignorant of Indian food.
I am very curious however.

Indian food is so easy to make yourself but does require a bit of expenditure on the spice front at first but then your away. -

peppermint - same here - I make my curries from scratch - even my indian friends are impressed & I must say with Durban (my home town) being so culturally diverse we have access to every indian spice imaginable, even the very expensive but well worth it saffron.
