Helllloooooo peeps!
Alright so with all my recent BS part of the new "me" will be a new tattoo. I have part of it figured out, a phoenix bird, which really is perfect for me personally with my journey through life, as a silentlamb, and coming out of the borg and embracing my own life. REBORN!
What I am trying to figure out is the piece that I want to get over my heart, which will be where the tattoo starts. I want something that symbolizes that life of a child, inside the borg, alone, sad, terrified, victimized, etc. Something that is a clear statement of what that life was, and the life that is now dead and left behind.
Any thoughts??

a phoenix bird
That's quite a special tattoo with lot's of meaning, just be sure about getting the tattoo, it's going to be
highly visible and long lasting.
Cheers!

Why not try Ezekiel's "Wheel within a wheel".
You could explain it to the tatoo artist and count field service time as he is doing it.

LOL!! that's classic. haha. Do apostates still count time? If so....then DAMN I'm like a super pioneer or something with as much as I tell people about it.

Feenx ...
I was going to suggest something more complex like the Last Supper or the scene of Lot's wife looking back to the city and being turned into a pillar of salt .... but then I thought the Wheel within a wheel would be more practical while costing less and less painful.

I recently told my mom that I got my first tat in the Fall. She told me the only people who got tattoos in her day were prostitutes and dirty old sailors. I laughed and asked her which one I was, she told me to choose. lmao...
Anyhoo...Feenx....how 'bout a tat all in tribal ink, of a child, in a desolate place, dead trees, a swampy place....snakes and slimey things all around....then have it change to color as you progress and find yourself coming out of the "ashes"...
...just something that came to mind as you described what you wanted...

Oh wow, I don't think I would want a permanent brand reminding me of my JW upbringing. The memories embedded in my mind are enough for me.
I got my first tattoo 4 years ago, a small flower, and I am now having a few different artists sketch up something to cover it. I wish I would have given it more thought and waited a little longer. Due to the black outline around it, I may not be able to get it covered.

That's true.
When i was first deciding on my tat i was thinking of getting free in chinese letters, but then i thought i really don't want a permanent reminder of being a jw on my body, so i went with a flower in black ink on my back. I love it.
I think with tattoos you have to think about whether or not you want something on your body that will be there forever. I thought will i be proud of this when im older? and i know i will.
