hey Blondie - completely agree - can you imagine the asking the WTS for money just because you broke your leg? Must be spiritually weak.
needless to say this bro is not an elder - might be an older MS - not sure.

I hope that the Brother gets good legal advice and is not beaten down by the local elders.
The procedures that the wts have in many areas are woeful and leave them open to being sued.

That kind of thing happens often in kh's. Yes, they are are insured for it. I read about it in the watchtower court documents on the pedophilia cases by Barbara Anderson.. Several men were paid for falling off of ladders, Etc. There was even one payment for 50K to someone for "Elder misconduct" in the kh in CA where an elder-child molester was, who is now in jail.
Each jw pays about 5 bucks a yr for the KH Assistance ins program. That's about what, $5-6 million per yr in the USA alone? $30,000,000 per yr if there are 6 million jws in the world?
If he doesn't take their offer, he may be df'd for taking a "brother" to court.
All that they had to do was lay a piece of carpet or something over the moss to prevent this to begin with.
