does he suffer from epilepsy or something?

No, a person doesn't have to be epileptic to suffer from seizures, strange though it may seem, but can be brought on by some acute stress that causes disturbance in the brain.

mrsjones: my sympathies to your husband and to yourself too - I do have some idea of the terrible burden this must be for you.

    God bless.

does he suffer from epilepsy or something?

He has Fibromyalgia and for the last couple of weeks his pain has greatly increased leaving him unable to function and in bed days at a time. The pain has been so bad the last couple of days that hubby has considered going to emergency. On top of that he's been having what he calls electric shocks going through out his body, which has been increasing his pain. On top of all that what is really worrying us and driving hubby out of his mind is the electric shocks have started to happening in his head/brain. Last night he got two strong shocks in his head, the first one woke him up. When he tried to go back to sleep another shock hit him.

We don't know what's going on. We just called his doctor, left a message (I hate voicemail) and are waiting for a reply.

Oh, a sidenote; hubby's company sponsored longterm insurance, that he's been paying into for nine years, just denied him for a second time. They say he's well enough to work.

That's BS. Get him to his doctor and make sure the doctor writes up something to prove he's not well enough.

I wish him well, good luck.

    Mrs. Jones,

I really hate to hear this. Insurance companies will say you can work when you can't move.

Look into Social Security. If you get your medical records in order you can get it (but you HAVE to have a doctor who will co-operate)

This makes me mad. You gotta fight illness and insurance at the same time.

I'm sorry your man is in pain. I'm gonna pray for him. (Better make sure your homeowner's is in force ) I haven't prayed in a loooooong time. Does Jesus hold a grudge?

What kind of doctor is he seeing; just a family practice physician? a company doctor? Sounds like he needs to see a specialist, neurologist or physiatrist or pain management specialist if he hasn't already. I would also have the physician process some FLMA paperwork. Hope this helps and I will sending positive vibes your way.

It's complicated. The one doctor who believes my husband is unable to be our primary doctor because my husband lost his job and his benefits (because his longtime insurance company says he not that sick and should be back on the job and when hubby was not able to return his job fired him) so we are on Medicaid and our doctor's medical practice doesn't accept adults on Medicaid. So now we have to find a new doctor who will accept Medicaid which for some reason is hard to do in the suburbs of Indianapolis. Guess we should move to the hood.

The doctor I don't like and who I think doesn't believe that my husband is in pain and incapacitated is his neurologist. She's all about the tests and I get the feeling that if the tests come back not showing anything or inconclusive (which they have) that she thinks nothing is going on, ergo no pain even though she gave him a wheelchair because of muscle weakness and loss of balance. I'm so tired of her saying that she doesn't know what's going on because she believe his symptoms don't fit anything even thought it's very apparent to us that everything points towards MS.

Trying to get my husband to drop her is like pulling teeth but I think I'm making headway.

Your doctor sounds like an airhead who is lost in statistics while missing the person who is living and breathing right there under her nose.

Look up some Fibro support sites.
