I thought meeting in small groups was a protection when persecution comes

JIMMY PAGE - One of the reasons for consolidating the Book Study with the Service Meeting and Ministry school at the kingdom hall now ? One word it's called " control". I'm sure the society wants to limit or control the witnesses as much as they can - and what better way than to take them away from associating in homes - forcing them to have ALL their meetings now at Kingdom Halls. That way the elders can keep a closer eye on things. Big Brother is watching

Like any other doctrines, they will be expected to forget it. They did not allow them to continue discussing 1975 when 1976 embarrassed them. In the same way, they are going to be expected to forget that the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger ever mentioned the book study groups for when persecution comes.

They have recently emphasized that the elders should have all the adresses of the congregation members. This might have been preperations to keep the control after the CSB is done away with.

This point was actually made in the watchtower about 15 minutes before the announcement. I was SO tempted to comment about how essential the book study provision is!

Missing Link, that would have been hilarious!! You comment on how important it is and the whole congregation nods in approval then 15 minutes later that important meeting is history...and the whole congregation nods in approval. Fantastic.

the average members will not complain about this. They will just feel that the small service group is still a
protection and it could always "meet" in the private home when persecution hits the Kingdom Hall building.

I revived this thread because I have now known officially about the BS change since my
wife told me Saturday night. This morning I asked her, "So what do you think of that
bookstudy change? There will be one less hour per week of meetings."

Her answer: "It's a provision from Jehovah. People are spending money on gas and
not finding time to study with family."

I hear her stating all the standard excuses. So the meetings are a wonderful provision and
a protection, but LESS of the meetings are a wonderful provision and an opportunity.
The average dub will defend anything that comes down the pipe from the Governing Body.

Is anyone surprised that "The Governing Body" is so prominant in the announcement letter?

That's we have been told during the 70's and 80's. That when "persecution"comes we will have the book study group secret meeting(small numbers, in homes and do not draw attention to the authorities)and the FDS will give us all the latest informations regarding our protection from the great tribulation

    WHAT A CRAP....
