    Baptized October 26, 1963. I was 11 years old.

It was in Massachusetts, and ironically, we stayed at a place called The Pioneer motel!

Oh Velvetann! That beautifully solemn baptism pic, enlivened with the two young boys smiling at your behind, is PRICELESS!

Thanks for sharing that, it made my day. :–)

Mine was Sept of 1996, I had just turned 15 and was a freshmen in HS, and it was at a Circuit assembly. I was pressured for a couple years by my dad, my 2nd cousin the "elder", my grandma, my stepmom (and her whole family), etc. So to get everyone off my back, I did the deed, with only two other guys, and there might have been a few girls too, but we weren't allowed to "watch them" for fear of thinking unclean thoughts. From that moment on I was TERRIFIED of being DF'd, I was pararnoid of my every little move for almost a full year. The next summer my friends and I got back to doing what we did best, drinking, partying, and messing around with our girlfriends. The fun all came to a crashing hault when one by one of us was either DF'd or reproved, all around the time I was 18. I was later DF'd at 25 last winter, March 18, 2007.

I don't remember the date I was baptized or the date I was DF'd.

I do remember my dad standing there watching me with my brothers and hugging me when it was over. I do remember the brother I had a huge crush on watching in the wings and giving me a big hug.

    Hi Sue aka Betterdaze

Thats so funny you said that about the BOYS staring at my behind. I found that photo last year in my Moms belonging after she died. I didn't even know it existed. My husband saw the pic and scanned it secretly and then emailed it to me, he said the boys were staring at my Butt. I didn't realize it until he pointed it out. So funny now that I think of it and funny you noticed it too.

I got baptized in my home town of Perth Ontario at the circuit assembly held in my highschool, there were only a few of us, mostly teenagers that got dunked.

    Thanks for the comment Sue

Seeker4 I can't believe you were so young, 11 years old and baptized. A lot of us were so young, I just think its wrong. Do you think you were too young or did you know what you were doing?

We weren't allowed to get married or date but we were supposedly old enough to know that we wanted to dedicate our lives to Jehovah which turned out to be the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.

I was about 13 and had been studying with this pioneer woman. Her husband was a elder & pioneer and they both were not having kids in this system. He traveled as guest speaker to different congs and always was saying he was going to share "New Light". They took me to a convention in Spokane, Washington and had a big talk with me about Armeggedon being right around the corner. How scary and horrible peoples deaths will be. Who will be the only ones to survive? Only those in the Great Crowd. How does one identify who is in the Great Crowd? Only those who are baptized. I was baptized the next day. No friends or family. My mom was really pissed about it. Later the couple got pregnant. He later committed adultry, got DFd, divorced her totally devestated her, and remarried a worldly woman. He never looked back. Now he's dead. their son at a very young age married an much, much older sister (as in grandma age) but he's great pals with her son and they are really into Star Trek...they can speak Vulcan. The wife moved and took care of her father until he died. I think she's still in. So basically I was terrified into it.

I was 9, in 1969. It was a moving conveyer built of people, step up, dunk fast, move along, next sheep...I felt like a cog in a machine. No one made eye contact, no one said anything, I don't know if my parents were able to see through the crowd. No one talked about it afterward.

Perfunctory. Vaguely unpleasant. Cold water. Orange bathing suit with green band. No pictures.

Nothing changed, except I knew I was now open to judicial actions.
