And if they did are the words/articles available from non WTBTS sources? I guess what I'm getting at is - is there a non-WTBTS publication that contains the same/very similar articles as in is the Awake? If so that would be powerful evidence that the WTBTS was being used as a UN mouthpeace ...

Yes, Trevor Scott is actually posting the scan of Awake articles such as the No. 22, 1998 one.
To find the comparable edition of facts - turn to your nearest UN depository and look it up.
If I get a second in the next few weeks I will try and uncover DPI's article.
But please note - to stay ACCREDITED they needed to fill out the annual accreditation form and provide DPI with an annual report of their work that showed they did use DPI litature.

Wow, that would be powerful stuff, to have a copy of the Awake in one hand, and a UN publication in the other, and be able to say "See, this is what they had to print to stay associated with the UN DPI, ALL to keep a liberary card?!" - I would say that this might even crack the shell for my family (maybe, though, they're pretty up to their necks in the BS).

When I go into Zev's site, I find that I really like the "circles" when I click on a link.
Of course what comes out of those "circles" can be a real killer to a Witness who doesn't have a clue about this little minor problem.

Nice work on the website.
I also agree with Farkel that in view of their lame library card argument, the focus must be on what they had to do to maintain that relationship with the UN and what the evidence shows.
The "soft" articles they've written over the past years do seem to fit that they knew exactly what was required to be accredited every year.
Further, why did WT representatives innitially assume the membership was for humanitarian purposes or to make "representations" to the UN? Where was the simple library card reason in the beginning if it was the sole reason for being associated?
Finally, whether the WT Society knew or was completely ignorant, there is no escaping that they of their own volition solicited the UN to be associated with the DPI, and thus led 6 million+ Witnesses into an adulterous apostate relationship with 'the scarlet coloured wild beast'.
At the very least, this carelessness has cost them confidence in their ability to lead.
