Now I guess I'll need to make piece with some pussy bullshit civilian-type expiration.
    Okay, Lt. Dan.

IT WAS MY DESTINY. Actually, my family destiny has been fulfilled perfectly. Rather than have a family member die in every war, I've had one avoid/miss just about every war, including myself. Grandpa "missed" WWII and wound up being an intelligence photographer in Japan for a couple years AFTER the war. My dad got a super-good draft number and missed Vietnam. I joined just after Sept. 11, 2001, as a Combat Engineer (one of the most needed combat MOS's in this kind of war), sat out 6 years of global warfare, "almost" went twice, but actually went 0 times. To not get deployed in 6 years as the Army gets "stretched to the breaking point" proves that my family is cursed and none of us were ever meant to go to war. I'm not disappointed, I think I prefer it this way after some time to reflect on my affinity for my various body parts.

I hope you die, rich and and content having lived a life without major regrets and that you die with all your body parts.

I hope so, too. I wish this for everyone. If we have to go, then let's hope it's beautiful.

I know after I die, there had better be a damn keg party!!

I don't want them to have a keg party, but a party is fine. Alcohol is cool and maybe they'll bring some guitars and play. And hopefully people will be very comforting to my children and grandchildren. If there is a husband or significant other, I hope family and good friends will be there for him with company, housework and good eats.

At that age, I will make sure people check on at least once a day to make sure I'm okay. I'd hate to die and no one know for a while.

    Sometimes...
I see flashes of myself in the cold "steel" non-private
surround of unfamiliar people and places, electronics, beeping... Old,
dieing, medicatedly "removed" from pain. Physically and mentally there,
here and nowhere. Unknowing and going...
