feel free to contact a lawyer and get some advice.

Don't ever ask a lawyer for advice, they are very stupid people only interested in stuffing their pockets with your money.

If you need a lawyer, present them with a mission or a goal, ask them if they can accomplish it or not, and then for an assessment of the level of effort it may require before they succeed. "What should I do" is the worst thing you can possibly ask a lawyer.

Good point Bring the light. There are a few good lawyers in this country, but most are ruthless and spineless and only interested in the bottom line--money.

There are some who work for positive change and I tip my hat to them.

Why don't you use your own advice and quit being negative in thread where people are trying to positively cause change? If you are happy, then fine, but quit rubbing it in others faces who may not have been so fortunate as you.

See my put up or shut up comment. You aren't working for change by sitting around daydreaming about damaging a corporation. I see a lot of talk about suing, but not one person has indicated they are going to seek a lawyer. That is the first step to a suit.

These threads are about whining and bellyaching, not about change. If there is a legitimate question or a need for help, I'm the first one to volunteer. I'm also the first to call bs on bs ideas.

This is an extremely ignorant statement. I can give you first hand experience that no one stupid is a lawyer. There are a lot of hoops to jump through and stupidity won't allow success.

You just aren't thinking creatively. How about we ask everyone on JWD to donate money, we collectively take out an advertisement in some major newspaper, but more importantly, tell every major media outlet that we've taken out the advertisement and why, the advertisement appeals to any interested organization to consider fighting for legal protections of the rights that the organization tramples on and the harm it causes, with the stated intent of forcing the organization to change its most harmful, non-biblical, traditions such as shunning of non-believing family.

Now, if we did that, Mr. Naysayer, does it fucking matter whether a lawsuit can be won in the current frame of case law?

Ever hear of libel and slander? Those are two very real charges that can be won. I'm not talking about winning a suit, I'm talking about even making it past a motion to dismiss, let alone getting consideration for class certification. The case simply is not there.

You may not see a case there, but somewhere, sometime, somebody will. You have to have the desire and determination first, if you lack those, then you have already lost the battle.

    What about the expression--where there's a will, there's a way.

Who in their right mind would think that Mcdonald's would get sued over a woman spilling coffee? I am sure she was told by many lawyers in the beginning to take a hike, that her case wasn't winnable, but she found one lawyer willing to take a chance, and she won.

So Junction, when's your appointment to start your suit?

My appointment stands, anytime an Ex-JW attorney would like to sit down and discuss things and work together looking for that loophole, then they will have my undivided attention.

There are several attorneys fighting against the WT, most of them are pedophile cases, I wasnt sexually abused in the classic sense, so it wouldnt do for me nor for them to include me except in some supportive way.
