My best friend Chris, works as a supervisor for a construction company has some Jehovies that work for him, the other day he was saying how he thinks that they take advantage of the fact that they need time off to go to meetings, and special events. He goes on to tell me that they must leave early Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, also they never want to work weekends because of their service time. I started laughing and told him that he should just fire them, because they are taking advantage of his kindness and that the JWs do not have that many meetings. He knows that my family are JWs and so he knows that I know what I'm talking about, now he is really pissed.

You need to let him know that beginning very very soon, they will have one less day to take off early when the BS is discontinued.

if he sacks them over that they'll be lining up to sue, jws love a bit of religious discrimination/persecution in the work place.

Suggest Chris look over these court cases before he takes any action. He needs to be careful how he handles the employees so he doesn't find himself being sued by them.

I know about Tuesday and Thursday evening. But there is no reason for them to leave early on Monday and Friday as well, unless they are always out in field circus those evenings. The weekends are full of field circus, and Sunday contains a big fat boasting session.

The book study will be discontinued starting 2009. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the witlesses still need that evening off. Why? We will find out for sure this fall whether there is going to be a Kingdumb Misery part about using the time wisely, meaning to go out in field circus. If so, they will still need that evening off for their field circus.

It seems to me that he is just allowing himself to be taken advantage of. If they are on salary, convert them to hourly and pay them for the hours they work. If he needs someone to work weekends, hire them. If they cant be converted to salary base their compensation on the amount of work performed. All in all, quit complaining and be the boss already.

Kinda funny how JWs are forbidden to sue each other, but they can sue non-JWs at the drop of a hat.

Well the way the construction industry is right now, he may have to lay them off anyway. My question is why is it ok for them to lie about it?

Well damn if I had a chance to get rich quick because of possible religious discrimination I would be lining up too.

Maybe they conduct bible studies in the evening?

Or maybe they are elders who use those evenings for shepharding calls??

Just a thought. My parents used to be out every night of the week with studies.
