I, also, checked JWD out to see if anyone had posted anything about this *legal* drug/weed/whatever and someone had posted about it...
That video is awful! I did a quick google search on Salvia. There seems to be a lot of "information" floating around that this stuff is harmless or not too harmful. However those videos made me think immediately of the effects of huffing gasoline. My quick check seemed to confrim some very bad chemistry associated with this plant. I hope those kids find something else to do. A couple of years (or less) of this and they may not be capable of doing much of anything.
Well, aparently there are multiple forms of ingestion. Some more potent than others. For example, you can chew the leaves for a longer, more mild reaction, or ingest the base drug (forget how to spell it). Regardless, it just hows how kids will always seek a high and experiment with something. If we keep illegalizing every plant and herb we just nurture the drug trade.
A JW kid we knew died from huffing aerisol.
Tried it once a long time ago. Pretty intense for about 30 seconds, then nothing. No side effects, no comedown. There was an extremely uncomfortable body high that came along with it. (Like that feeling when your foot goes to sleep, but it's your whole body.) The hallucinations were extremely vivid & visual. Not something I would care to experience again. Plus, the smoke tastes absolutely awful. Nothing like good ol' mary-joo-wanna.
One kid told the kid that was totalled to wait 10 minutes and he'd come down off the trip (I guess that's what you call it??). I told my husband that 10 seconds of a trip like that would kill me! You wonder how people kill people and don't remember what happened???? Or jump off of skyscrapers and kill themselves???
I don't want to try any of that freaky hallucinogenic stuff!

Life is hard but doing knockout crazy drugs doesn't make it better! That kid, probably, lost a few brain cells after that trip! After he puked, I could of swore that he stopped breathing, and then he started hyperventilating, and had spastic movements...that ain't fun! Some kids like to play with death; I guess???
Guys, I'd not heard of salvia before this thread. I think we need to hold off condemning it before we know anything about it. That kid in the video could have easily been on a lot of things besides salvia.

Did you watch the one with the older guy (20ish to 30ish) in the lotus position saying how it's takes you on a spiritual high (or something like that). That dude freaked out too! He had a sitter with him in the room. The videos that I watched looked like they were not having a happy high! Most people seemed like they needed to get out of the room/house for air. Well, I think that's what they were trying to do???
