I am on many different discussion boards, not all are JW related.
On one particular board I have been shunned and outright mocked for my religious and political beliefs. This board practices heavy censorship, almost like the Watchtower.
One of the particular posters started off talking with me and we had a friendly conversation, from there on I was ignored. I was nothing but courteous in my replies and steered clear of controversial subjects. It really floored me, as the only time I have ever been treated so rudely was by JW's, so this was a first for me.
Well lo and behold this person is organizing a meetup within 2 weeks, and part of me wants to go just to tell him off, but part of me wants to play it cool and actually overwhelm them with kindness and maybe they will feel bad for the way they treated me.
No one knows who I am, nobody there has even seen my pic. I could go totally brand new and no one would even know.
Also I bet they would change the meetup venue if they suspected I was interested, so for now I won't even respond to that thread.
The christian in me says to go and overwhelm them with kindness
The human in me wants to go and tell them off--big time.
An Odd scenario

If you do go, I suspect all you'll have to do is open your mouth and you will "out" yourself.

Why would you spend real life hours going to someplace "to tell them off --- big time"? Sounds a little too much like a bad rerun of MTVs Real World. Just my opinion.

Junction guy, why does it seem like every post of yours is talking about how someone dissed you or disrespected you?

Whew! I thought it was just me. I even asked my boyfriend Male Formed, what he thought and he said the same thing. It's like a persecution complex or sumthin. Not meaning to be rude or anything, but that's my opinion.

Forget about it, don't give them power over you.

So, what you're saying is you want to be nice in order to make them feel bad. That's not being nice at all.
As another poster said, this is the internet. You take yourself too seriously. I could make a form for your posts:
(insert noun) treated me rudely and persecuted me for my religious and political beliefs. I have been nothing but nice to them. I think I'll act nice to make them feel bad. I haven't seen this kind of behavior since leaving the jw's. (insert noun) are not quality people.
I can do a search and post examples if you'd like.

LOL...JD, I was just thinking that same thing! Please, you do the honors. South Park is on and I'd rather watch that.
