At college i studied a text book on sociology by Harolambos. In this book there is a chapter on the sociology of religion, within it there was 10 defining characters of a religious cult. JW's fit into 9 of them exactly, the only one it didn't was a charasmatic leader.
I studied this just as i was leaving the JW's, it was an eye opener.

I don't see how anyone can say that all religions are the same. We have a smorgasboard of religions in this world. Some are strict, some are lenient. Some encourage education, a few don't. Some believe in partying and drinking, some forbid alcohol.
Many are anti-drug, some encourage dope smoking.
Lumping all religions together as the same is like saying McDonald's is just the same as Red Lobster.
We have a smorgasboard of restaurants in this world. Eating too much restaurant food is not healthy and some restaurants are bad altogether. Homecooking is best.
