So sorry for the loss of your grandma. I had a similar experience almost 2 years ago. My brother was down visitng me from Ohio and we were on the lake. I just happened to mention that we should call Dad and let him know we were on the lake, the lake that we used to go camping as children. My stepmom about 1/2 way through the conversation tell us our stepgrandpa had died 2 days ago and the funeral was the day after the next. If they had told us as soon as they knew, my brother could have brought some dress clothes with him. My Dad and stepmom didn't even go either.
When my stepgrandma died the previous year, they didn't even consider us in the arrangements. They planned the funeral around everybody elses schedule and acted like they could care less if we attended.
The way they scheduled the funeral, there was no way I could make it. -

Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear about your family putting
WTS ahead of normal family relations. Not much comfort, but
many families don't know how to react when a loved one dies. -

Thank you all for your condolences. I haven't seen my grandmother in almost 10 years.
My good memories of her are playing cards (no gamboling because that would be wrong). She was part Ojibway so used a few natural remedies that most often tasted like tree bark.
She wasn't fond of kids. . . well she really didn't like kids and had no real affection for them (probably why my mother is so messed up even before she became a JW)
Grace. I sent an email about this to both you and Susan so you could pass the info on to the boys and they could let their dad know. Seems I don't have your correct email address.
As for my computer woes I'm in a holding pattern while I am in Montreal. I'll see what happens when I get back home
