Is your anger really against the misled victims of the WTS, so that you'd want to blow up Kingdom Halls?

How would "terrorism" against Witnesses accomplish any goal that a typical ex-JW might have?

The reason, oompa, is that Ex-JW's are perhaps the best people in the world and violence to remedy non-violent offenses is wrong.

Most Ex-JW's are extremely angry, but if you look deep down, you will realize we are angry because they are liars and we are truth-tellers. The reason the average Ex-JW is born is getting fed up enough to tell the truth. We are the good guys.

That said, i think Oompa raises a good point which illustrates my perspective that in general the Ex-JW's are the "good guys". If we were really the children of Satan, and were as angry as we are, one would expect a lot more physical retribution than has occurred to date. I think its something we can be proud of, lets at all times keep non-violence as a professed virtue of the Ex-JW community in the tradition of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. And if America is to be a great nation this must become true. So let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania!

Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado!

Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California!

But not only that; let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia!

Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee!

Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

And when this happens, when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

Investigation continues into Columbia shooting

COLUMBIA -- Columbia police investigators say a shooting outside a Jehovah’s Witness assembly hall is a possible hate crime. Witnesses say a masked man opened fire on a group of worshipers as they were leaving the hall about nine o’clock Monday night. An unidentified woman was shot, but not seriously injured. We discovered there are many unanswered questions surrounding the shooting.
Columbia police investigators have very little evidence and just a few clues regarding the shooting at Columbia’s Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
We do know that witnesses to the crime could only say the shooter was a man, about 5’8” tall and weighed about 160 pounds. The suspect fired several times into a group of worshippers.
An unidentified 36-year-old woman was shot several times, but her wounds are not life threatening. Investigators are not ruling out a hate crime since the shooting occurred at a place of worship.
“We’ve talked to the victim on at least one occasion,” explains Columbia Police Captain Brad Nelson. “She’s not having any problems with anybody that she knows of. So to answer your question, there is not a motive at this point as to why we have this victim. If she was the intended target, we’re not sure why nor is she, if it was just shooting into a group and hitting her or if she was the intended target. We’re not sure.”
Authorities say four different congregations use this assembly hall during the week.
I tried to talk to members of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and they told me they were instructed not to talk to the media and let the police handle all interviews. One thing they did tell investigators is that they think the shooting was premeditated.
Investigators told me the shooter waited for his victims near the door of the assembly hall. Witnesses say he just didn’t walk up to building and start firing. Police still don’t know if the wounded woman was the intended victim or who pulled the trigger.

Tired of the Hypocrisy

Careful Oompa, I made a comment about how the world would be better off if the 9-11 planes had hit beth-Hell instead of the wtc and got all kinds of grief for it.

This is ridiculous, simply wondering out loud why there are not more attacks on kh's is not encouraging it.

I think I remember a case out east (?) from years ago where a ubm either blew up or lit a kh on fire. He was so devastated by losing his wife & kids to the cult. If I remember correctly it was when it was empty and no bodily harm was done.

There have been a few times where a parent or grandparent somehow sneaked a gun into a court room and shot to death a pedophile that raped their child/grandchild. Have to say if I was on their jury I would let them go with the least amount of years possible if I had any say in it. If I was on a jury and heard that someone torched a jw related building because they were beside themself with grief over the loss of a loved one because some elder made the person commit suicide by lack of blood, or someone lost their mind for awhile because some known pedophile raped their child, or some other act of passion towards the jw's I could not vote for the maximum years allowed (if juries get to decide such things). I understand the rage. This does not mean I condone torching kh's or any other harm to jw building.

The Danny H thing was done to death but if you could hear how non jw's feel about jw's coming to their property and some of the ideas they have in mind for jw's, Danny was pretty tame. Just because the people at the doors treat jw's politely doesn't mean they don't fantisize about what they would like to do sometimes to jw's who interrupt their life much less in the case of an ex jw who's life has been ruined by the cult or a family member who's life has been seriously impacted by the cult.

Aggrieved people can dredge up of all kinds of justifications on why their particular pet-hate could be/should be actioned. If it's not JWs, it's Scientologists or Mormons or Hindus or unwed mothers or dead-beat fathers or George Bush, etc etc etc.
