And Tophat arrives to prove the point, sickening.

I somehow feel that these are all just linked to plates shifting in the earth, I read somewhere

before that there is to be a major one in the future. Have to google that I guess!

Have you ever noticed the weather pattern changes in the world after an earthquake, in other parts of

the world, or every time it seems a shuttle goes up the weather gets bad in many area's. I've noted these

seemingly changes for many years now.

Just my questioning idea's I've been pondering.

And imagine these are not even the worst tragedies that have happened to the earth.

Huh? I think that's called coincidence. I'm sure if I tried hard enough, I could tie bad weather or a cold McMuffin being served somewhere in Arkansas to everytime I take a dump...

There is no evidence to support a correlation between bad weather and shuttle flights:

However, there is evidence to support an inverse relationship between global warming and pirates:

    Have a nice day!

P.S.--Not sure why those links don't "click" right--but if you copy and paste the text into the address bar of your browser, they will work fine.

Looks like the shuttle theory is a flat-liner, the pirates are rather funny though!

I lived in Taiwan [an island off the coast the Chinese coast, located to the south of Japan] for about 20 years. I can assure you that Taiwan is "earthquake central." I experienced many earthquakes. The briefest glimpse of a geological map will explain why this is so. Taiwan is literally criss-crossed with fault lines, as is Japan. In fact, the whole Pacific ring is a "hotbed" of seismic activity. Japan, China, and Taiwan all have long, long histories of earthquakes, tremors, and the resulting aftershocks. Japan and China have suffered horrific earthquakes throughout history - an example is Kobe, Japan.

It is never going to stop. As long as the earth endures, there will be earthquake after earthquake in that part of the world. I wonder how many witnesses know about tectonic plates. The Earth's crust is made up of the plates, which collide against each other. When two meet and the pressure builds up, something has to give. One has to go over the other. The energy released is almost unimaginable - the combined force of thousands of atomic bombs.

I would not claim to be a scholar like Narkissos or Leolaia , but I found this interesting.

The Greek word used in Matt 24 .7 for earthquake is "seismos" . The meaning according to the "Blue Letter Bible" site is 1} shaking, commotion 2} a tempest 3} an earthquake ..The same Greek word is rendered "tempest" in Matt 8 24 when Jesus calmed the sea

Now the context of Matt 8 makes it plain that it was a storm. But is there anything in Matt 24 to suggest 'earthquake', apart from this word?

Could Jesus have meant storms, or other forms of agitation among mankind and not literal earthquakes necessarily? The word has always stuck out as odd to me?

Just my thoughts, completely unsubstantiated by any other writings..

    My thoughts also, BluesBrother.

    From The Message Bible:

Matthew 24:7 Famines and earthquakes will occur in various places. This is nothing compared to what is coming.

Also, I've often wondered what literal earthquakes have to do with anything.

We seem to be the only ones that get excited and uplifted by others' tragedies.

Yeah, no wonder- It's in the freaking Bible!!

    ----

Also, there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth anguish of nations, not
knowing the way out because of the roaring of the sea and [its] agitation, 26 while men become
faint out of fear and expectation of the things coming upon the inhabited earth.... But as these
things start to occur, raise yourselves erect and lift YOUR heads up, because YOUR deliverance is
    getting near.

    ----

There you have it. Jesus says we should be gleefull as we watch other nations drown.

    What a guy.
