Someone actually said to me "it never seems to happen in countries where there are a lot of witnesses". I wanted to say "exactly what sort of monster are you?"
That is so incredibly insane....!! I agree it would take some sort of monster to think such thoughts.

Remember that family from Tennessee coming home from an assembly? They stopped at a rest stop and was carjacked and shot. Even the 2 babies. Everyone died but the little boy. He now lives with non Witness relatives in Sweden. Oh, wait. That one makes sense. NOT!
Can't they just say what a horrible tragedy a situation is, and express grief?

Momz, I think I knew them personally.. they used to be in my congo in Miami... his name Vidar from Norway if I'm not mistaken????? Terrible shame...
I'm glad that we're taking the time to excoriate people who would otherwise get away with such thoughts.

WH:I used to cringe every time I heard the "Jehovah must be blessing me" comment.
Thta was a big pet peeve.. Even my JW wife agreed with me when a few years ago her pioneer sister friend implied that several of our recent misfortunes were a result of the lack of Jah's blessing. That hurt my wife and I was able to refute that idea....
Of course now I know that the whole ideology is sooooo flawed...

Speaking of wanting to BARF....I spoke to my cuz yesterday and all she said was "if it's jehovah's will" , "thanks to jehovah", "what a blessing from jehovah", "just waiting upon jehovah' UGH....normal people don't talk like this...it makes me NUTS...
I know of a brother and his wife either leaving or coming to a Memorial service that were struck by a car in an intersection. The wife died.
Meanwhile a few Witnesses in a nearby area were killed by the storm. Of course, they must be inactive by this manner of reasoning.
What do you call a group of Witnesses killed by a storm while pioneering? A terrible tradgedy.
What do you call a group of Witnesses pioneering in beautiful weather? A horror.

People say stupid crap like this because they would rather place the blame (or take credit) or have an explanation for the unexplainable, rather than just accepting that things "just happen."
When people say "Jehovah blessed me" or "Jehovah must be withdrawing his spirit from that person" or "the devil caused those people to die" it just makes me ill.
Do people really think that Jehober and the Debbil are f$#k*ng micromanaging the damn world? If so, why doesnt Jehober win hands down everytime if he (it) is so damn almighty?
hmmmmm...... and I know regular pioneers ...elders..right now..that I know their skeletons in their closets and people would just cringe if they knew what I knew..... yet they "appear" to the R&F around them to "have Jehovah's blessing"....
...like the elder/pioneer in one congo I went to where, for 2 years, was looking at porn on the internet...all the while serving in his advanced responsibilities...and when caught... (not confessed...busted...) was allowed to continue on as an elder/pioneer....(edited to add...AND IS STILL SERVING AS AN ELDER/PIONEER) and admitted to the BOE that he wouldnt have come forward if not for getting caught...... everyone says "Jehovah blesses his efforts" GIVE ME A FREAKING BREAK...HYPOCRITE.
