That is so cool, Alexia, about your mom and her dreads. My mom left shortly after I did. Not being dubs has been one of the best things ever to happen to my family!

I wish. My mom is single, and now has no kids who will survive the big A. Before I left she was friends with the prominent women in the hall, now even more so. It is all poor "M", she's all alone serving Jah. She actually has left a few times in her life, but came back the last time about 7 years ago. I think she's in for good now.
Oh, and dreadlocks? Their counsel is stupid and your mom did great in her response.

Yes, there is hope. I left (faded), but my folks never shunned me. Ten years later, my brother, an elder, gets DF'd for apostasy. My mom refused to shun him also. She was reported for having a meal with him, and soon she and my dad DA'd themselves.
