Coincidences or synchronicity

The past week we have both had an extreme amount of synchronicity it seems,

what does it mean? Major change? Curious!

Any takers on explaining the phenomenon?

Ever notice how when you get a new car you start seeing ones that look just like yours everywhere?

The human brain has a marvellous genius for putting any two things together and weaving a plausible scenario which makes it wondrous.

Looking into the night sky, the ancients could see bears, Hercules, seven sisters, goats, you-name-it.

Looking at clouds we can see alligators and President Lincoln.

We are tuned to finding how things GO TOGETHER.

That is how we extract and synthesize knowledge from background noise and become intelligent.

This "means" this---oh, I get it!

Synchronicity is a lovely Deepak Chopra lullabye.

A lot of things which are mysterious and mystical are merely intellectually aesthetic.

"Spiritual" people have a highly developed sense of wonder and aesthetics.

Carl G Jung had a number of theories in relation to synchronicity and I personally have experienced this phenomena too in a number of areas - primarily with respects to my spirituality.

IPSEC: Yeah I know exactly what you mean - in Psychology the term for this called subjective abstraction (I think). For instance since Dawn (Sirona) has been pregnant I have seen more pregnant women out and about than I ever had. Its your mind (subconciously) looking for similarities. Gary

I will relate two such experiences this being the first as both of these happened yesterday.

A few years ago my son was involved in a vehicle accident. He was on his way with a friend to a business meeting. They were to go in his friends vehicle, but

for some strange reason he had decided to take his own and follow him. On the way his friend hit a vehicle causing a three vehicle pile up which included my son. His friends

vehicle was a mess there is no possible way that my son would have been alive today had he been his his friends vehicle.

So on to yesterday, my son being a entrepreneurial, he owns several business and is into a three D animation. We really talk about a lot of things together and

yesterday was about the reason his life was spared was it to do what he is doing now and his future plans. I give this experience as I am involved in one of these ventures so it does effect

me to some degree. Later in the evening he goes to the drug store to mail off a bunch of packages and pulls up and parks thinking of the days events. Low and behold he looks to the

right and he sees this vehicle, the same make and the exact same color of the vehicle he could have been in that was totalled.

Freaky, coincidence, synchronicity or what are the chances????

The second strange thing was,

After posting to "LoveDubs" thread about finding drugs in her sons room, I then started to Google illegal drugs for pictures of her description.

I did not find exactly what I was looking for though. So a short time later I leave for work. I get to where I am going and

unknowingly to me training is going on, guess what? it Happens to be about identifying illegal drugs and paraphernalia. I can count on one

hand the number of times this training has been in this building in the past 16 years. To my amazement there is this awesome board with pills, pot, etc

all neatly laid out. Coincidence or synchronicity? What are the chances of being that involved earlier and walk into it later??????

I believe in all things wierd and wonderful but I'd say that your two examples are likely to be just chance.

Synchronicity is usually much more detailed and obvious than that - like speaking of someone from your past and then coming across their exact name that very day, THEN running into them that day. Usually it would be three things together - three or more. (example: you have a spiritual message about a particular rare animal and the next day you see that animal 5 times). If its two things which synchronise, all the intricate details match. This is just my experience. Seeing a particular make and model of car isn't that difficult and since no other details were involved it could just be chance.

what about this example...me and my wife went to the car auctions with my mate and his wife...they wanted to buy a nice runaround....they couldn't find a car they liked inside the auction...but outside someone was selling theirs privately....it was exactly what they wanted....after some haggling they bought it....we went to get it insured on the way home...and went from there back to our house to celebrate their purchase.....however...as we were driving into our street...(fearnmore road glasgow....google earth it...to see how small the street is ....and how big glasgow is)...a car with the exact same number plate was driving out of the street...they looked at us...we looked at them and we all stopped....their car had been stolen with all the documents in it....and their numberplates had been put on a stolen car....police were called and my mate and his wife lost their car.....what is weird is that they could have been driving around for years without knowing....yet within an hour of getting it...they bumped into their twin...exact colour and plates....weird
