What is with all these accidents involving trains lately? I know the big one just below Darwin was the fault of the truck driver. He delibrately drove out onto the track as he was trying to kill himself.

Most of the time it's driver inattention or deliberately trying to "beat" the train.
On the whole, trains are pretty safe though. I don't think it should stop you visiting the NT, Witness 007!
