So sorry to hear their having such health problems. Ray is right, getting old is really tough. I hope they can recover and find a messure of health return.

They will be in my prayers.

Just as a side note - if somebody sees them - Betty Dunlap (Ed Dunlap's wife) is still alive, but is in assisted living as she has become somewhat senile due to onset of old age. I used to talk to her once a week until she had to be taken under full-time care (and has no phone now, as far as I know).

The Dunlap's were also heroes of the enlightenment at the time Ray left Bethel.

Betty Dunlap is having mental problems often associated with old age.

One of her non-witness relatives came to the States and took her back to Australia from whence she came.

    She is living with them.

Can you just imagine the letters and emails Ray has gotten over the years?

You can tell from his replies, he is a humble man. He totally takes the wind out of the sails of the raving mad "apostate" label that was put on him. He took the high road. He has my respect and love.

He gave all of his life to the WT, until he was booted for questioning while in his 50's. That's all the man had ever done! Of course the kind soul in Gadsden, Alabama who helped him got booted for his troubles. That alone should tell anyone that it's all about control of the rank and file.

Ray's only sin was caring about the "sheep". His conscience wouldn't let him tear up marriages, families, individual.

He's a class act, a strong man. He also had a great woman in his corner.

I wish Ray and his wife the best.

His book Crisis of concience back in the day validated my escape.

    Jag,

Key word: validated. He told you what you already knew in your heart. By the time I read CoC my mind was leaving-----at last!!!!!
