Letter had to do with checks written at the upcomig district conventions (bs sessions) checks are not the be made out to watchtower but are to be made out the congreagtion of Jehovah Witnesses. What gives with this anyone want to hazard a guess?

everyone knows that all changes like this are about money. Even intelligent JW's know this.
Most likely it has to do with a protection of assets. the Watchtower is likely more of a corporate entity where the congreagtion of Jehovah Witnesses has probably been set up under different legal loop holes that provides further tax sheltering or protection/obfuscation of company/church assets.
It is highly likely, as suggested, this change has happened as a result of recent lawsuits regarding pedophiles. The WTS will no doubt be making many many changes in the coming months to further protect itself from litigation and liability. Some we will see, such as this, the majority will be back-office legal dept. changes that none of us will ever know about.

There are several WT corporations but only one named "Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses." It could be a financial way to combine donations in one location.
The conventions were once advertised as "Watchtower" but are not advertised as CCJW.

My guess/prediction is that they're phasing out the name Watchtower altogether. They changed the Golden Age to the Awake so why not just ditch the Watchtower for something fresh and modern - a new brand.
