Based on the glimpses of the new book "Keep Yourselves in God's Love" I could forsee them suggesting that this be a 2nd study book with someone before they are baptized. They will likely keep using "What Does the Bible Really Teach?" as the 1st book, but that book ends with a chapter entitled "Remain in God's Love". I could see them suggesting that the new book be studied with someone as a 2nd book if they haven't yet progressed to baptism maybe instead of the "Worship the Only True God" book from 2002.

Thanks so much! Can you clarify what the topics in the Appendix are?

After they go through Bible Teach and then this new book, I'm sure they will be encouraged to study Worship the Only True God at least on their own after their baptism. Looks like they are really trying to solidify and stabalize people in the faith. Instead of promoting a six month bible study like they did after the Knowledge book came out and to just get it done ASAP, they seem to be drawing it out more - with them having doorstep bible studys in the Bible Teach book or Require brochure for as little as 5 minutes. Seems that they are trying to get people to stick with what they are learning instead of easily falling away.

Appendix
How to Treat a Disfellowshipped Person
Head Coverings - When and Why?
Flag Saluting, Voting and Civilian Service
Blood Fractions and Surgical Procedures
Gain the Victory Over Masturbation
The Bible's View on Divorce and Separation
Resolving Disputes in Business Matters
What is interesting is like the "Bible Teach" book, all the controversial issues such as blood, disfellowshipping etc are in the Appendix.
This might serve to distract the bible student from thinking too deeply on these issues - they would only be referenced in the study material
After all - who actually reads the appendix of a book? It's put at the back for a reason.

Instead of promoting a six month bible study
If these studies last a year or more leading to baptism, than they better explain how the "new light" thingy works. A year is long enough for them to begin to see flip-flops, I mean the light gets brighter, stuff!

Appendix
Gain the Victory Over Masturbation
I see they are still obscessed with the private lives of people. They really have to give this issue a rest! Do they really think reading their suggestions is going to keep people, especially teenagers and young adults from masturbating? It goes to show how "out of touch" they really are!

How to Treat a Disfellowshipped Person
Head Coverings - When and Why?
Flag Saluting, Voting and Civilian Service
These sections sound interesting. Any changes noted? How do they present voting and civilian service?

It would be most interesting to see a scan of those subjects as well as the masturbation appendix...
