Man....I've always hated "goodbye" threads. Generally, when posters say "goodbye" they are usually upset about something that was said or done to them by another poster(s) to make them leave, then they are usually back before too long. Yet, here I am, posting a goodbye thread.

I just wanted to say a few words before I go.

To those of you who are struggling to free yourselves from this diabolical organization:

Despite the pain & anguish that comes with an exodus or banishment from the WTBTS, you are truly taking the best steps to improve yourself. Thinking for one's self and having one's own spiritual beliefs are what make us all human. Embrace your individuality. The world is a wondrous place filled with beauty & excitement. Every one of you deserves to be free & happy. To some of you, things may seem overwhelming and the sadness, guilt, doubt, & pain can be crippling. Please know this: Things WILL get better. Sometimes it takes a while, but you WILL come to appreciate your new life and the opportunities that come with it. Make good friends and stick to them. Enjoy new experiences, take risks, go on adventures, try new things that were previously frowned upon or outrightly forbidden. Most importantly, remember that you are all individuals with something to offer the rest of society. Learn to love & accept yourselves and your free thinking. You are not flawed or broken. In time, you will be just fine.

I think you are right about how reading the new stories stirs up old hurts.

The problem I face is that I just think this is a nice place on the net for fun, news, support in general. And if I happen to read a story that I think I can make a half decent comment on, then I'm happy to post. Hopefully someone can benefit a little from my experience.

But I agree with you that sometimes it hold me back and that should maybe be more important to me than anything.

Thanks for sharing!! Maybe we'll see you again some day when old jw issues crop up.

You know how these 'good bye' threads go... And they ALL seem to come back at some point. LOL Take care.
