So Elders / Ex Elders out there.....can ya give a girl some help?

So far we have heard that these anti-college 'rules' have been given verbally.

I doubt the WTS would be stupid enough to put into writing now, but have they in the past?

    This year DC..online porn...next year....online classes....LOL

no...nothing in writing as far as elders letters...not as of dec 06.... that is when my reign of terror being an elduh ended.

now the COs might have something in their letters/instructions.....but the chances of any of us seeing that are slim....

so all you have now is inuendo and opinion spewed from the platform..

I know at the last KH I was an elduh at the WT conductor liked to spew his own opinion and often downgraded the need for secondary education. I had to go behind his back after those WT studies and calm down the parents/kids who were planning on going/sending their kid to college.... I know of at least one family that sent their daughter to a 4-yr university out of state...last I heard, she was doing better spiritually (gag) than the local kids left behind working minimum wage jobs with only a HS education....

As an ex elder, I can tell you that there is no written rules about going to universities or any other training. There have been talks at halls, conventions and assemblies and magazines stating that we could be wasting our time by recieving extensive training for the job market when the new system was going to come soon anyway and we would not be using the skills we learned so we would be better off pioneering or going where the need is great or some other WT defined good works.

Because this has been spread throughout the organization it has been taken by the R&F as a rule or law. It is not and if one goes to a university even if it is away from home, they cannot be punished by the elder's. But they may be, depending on the EB, hounded and talked to about the wisdom of such a decision. That councel from the elders you can take or leave. Of course if you do not take it, you will be considered spiritually weak.and possibly judged by the rest of your congregation.

**** who is a young anointed Ministerial Servant, says the Elders and Ministerial Servants at his hall met and were read a letter this past week from Watchtower headquarters. It says that from now on the Body Of Elders (BOE) is not to consider for appointments any JW who is attending college or who has a child attending college.

This was a quote on the Conference Call, hosted by Rick Fearon yesterday. So this seems to be also a 'recent' letter and I hope soon there can be a possible scan of this letter. Often the Watchtower gets away with verbal statements and since people don't get it in print, then it can be denied at a future date that the WTS ever said such and such since it may not have been directly printed in the Watchtower.

Yes, I certainly can confirm that the Society works hard to avoid paper trails. When we had meetings with the C.O. he would have his outline and then say something like: "Now turn to page so-and-so in your book and write this in the margin." So if anyone has an actual letter or outline it would be a C.O.

But who knows....maybe they're just being given some verbal instructions on this too, to completely eliminate tracing back the info.

On another note:One of our C.O.'s used to make up little stickers so that instead of writing the info in the margin we could just use the sticker. This eliminated the possibility of someone writing down the wrong thing.

wow...so what about those who are elders/servants who have attended college as witnesses? I suppose they will be grandfathered out. This is just crazy. So they want the congregations to be shepherded by ignorant yes-men?

It's a torrent file. You'll need an appropriate client for it...
