I wonder if it was coincidence that the WTS picked HOUSTON RELIEF COMMITTEE as the name for their relief org, which was also the name of an org which assisted in a 1900 Houston disaster:

OK, I'll say it.
Unless some JW Homeowner in Houston gets pissed off for some reason and rats out the "system", there's no way to know whether the WTS is pulling its typical behind the scenes manuevering to shame JWs into "donating" some of their FEMA and/or insurance proceeds to the WTS.

This same policy/procedure has been used for a long time, i.e., using the Regional Building Committees to organize help to rebuild KHs and homes. This was done with Hurricane Andrew for sure and other such disasters outside the US. Most brothers feel it is an opportunity to make points for future perks given out by the CO and DO and New York.
The trick is that they pick the style and size of the home. Your original home is not duplicated. Only local building codes rule not your personal preferences.

My god people, this is the biggest crock of crap I have herd. After stumbling onto this message board, and reading about all the 'Quote on Quote" scadels you think are going on, all I see if abunch of whinning Ex-JW's that at some point screwed up and got alittle discipline and now you have some grudge against JW's because some of you can't be adults and accept alittle discipline. What do you people think, that this world or the earthly goverments are gonna make everything better? Watch the nightly news.

And now been going back to meeting for about 6 months straight now, and I can not believe I ever left, the wonderful smiling people, wondering people who TRUELY care about you. Not these damn people in the world whole pretend to be your friends, but would step all over you and your mother to get what they want.
Yes it took me leaving to realize what I really lost, and now I am happier then ever, I can really feel Jehovahs blessings upon me.
And what it has done for my marriage is more then words could express.
