I thought that Windows XP was the eyes of the machine...
Color of your skin, shape of your nose, shape of your skull, your height, your hair, length of your fingers... iris of your eyes.
I'll know all about you just by looking at you.
Or will I?
Eyes, body language and posture may not seem important, but then why not ask a lion trainer if he bothers
to notice these things ?

You will know enough to draw close or keep your distance.

This is interesting as the thing that drew mt to my present partner was her eyes, they do smile at me,
Babies nearly always look at faces because it is well understood in behavioural pschology that the face is very diificult at concealing our feelings and babies know this innately

Phrenology was a 19th-century "science" that claimed to identify certain character traits from the shape of the head and face. It's been discredited for a long time. This eye thing sounds similar. I think the best predictor of someone's personality is how they've behaved in the past.
That being said, please excuse me now. I'm going to study my eyes in the mirror.

Babies are smart little things!
I believe one of the reasons autistic people refuse to make eye contact is that they know you will be able to read their thoughts by looking them in the eye.
There is so much that we don't understand.

Hmm, I wonder what your irises would look like if you are both warm and trusting AND neurotic and impulsive?
People are very adept at reading others' moods from their facial expression. I suspect it is so ingrained, it is nearly unconscious. I suspect rather than the iris itself, however, it's the combination of all the muscles around the eyes and the face that give away mood.
