One person came to invite me to Memorial, but that is it. No other person has tried. I take exception to the fact that not one of the "shephards" came to shephard this lost little lamb back into the fold like the FDS says they DO. No, they DON'T!

Your experiences are extremely interesting, especially since they are supposed to be God's organization.

When I left, I stopped going to meetings for about 1 month suddenly. Not one call, nothing. Then I moved, so I always wondered what would happen if I left.

It was easy for me -- my family still mentions that the end is near but never asks me to a meeting. My mom's hall was just remodeled though - might have to check it out and see if it meets certain legal requirments regarding accessibility (it used to not).

I haven't heard from anyone except one elder before the memorial but he didn't mention anything about the KH/WBTS.

    That was it..

Been to 4 different congregations, and only one set of elders seemed genuinely concerned about me. It's an out of sight out of mind organization unless you have many sincere (not judgmental) relatives attending.

I gradually began missing meetings, then stopped altogether. For a while there were invitations to go out in field service, local needs on the service meeting directed at me, and eventually, inquiries "why have you stopped attending"?
When I moved, my landlady, a sister in the congregation, had a "going away party" and perhaps a dozen or so people showed up. When I went back to visit the town on vacation a few years later, I visited her, and she organized another "party", however this time, only two people could be bothered to attend.

Looking back about four years ago......when I last spoke with brother elder....a good friend of mine that called us to see what was up....I have to say I don't really think they gave a damn what happened to us. Sad but true. Was kind of sad considering we contributed 25 years for me and, a life time for my wife to the JW cause.

Technically I faded. The fade itself had been over about a three year period. It was a forced fade; there seemed to be an unspoken shunning because of the reading material I had been caught with. Most of the congregation avoided speaking to me at the K.H, and I was not socialising with J.W's at all. When I decided that the final fase of fade should be completed I moved out of home. I hadn't seen people in my cong for quite a while when suddenly they turned up in the middle of me moving my belongings and they physically tried to stop me from proceeding. Thankfully I had several large 'worldly' lads helping me so they intervened. I was surprised by the physical element of the j.w's interferring, but more surprised that they even cared since they had been shunning me for some time. When I had finally set myself up in my new house and was sorting out the emotional/spiritual baggage - lo and behold - j.w's from the local cong 'happened to be passing by' and introduced themselves, noting that they had been advised by my previous cong that I would probably benefit from a call. I was extremely unimpressed by the whole affair.

So I guess you could say they 'gave a damn', but certainly not for the right reasons.
