the size of the organization means little to the GB. If it shrinks it's a sign of the end. If it grows it's a sign of the end. Current conditions are just a WT or two away from any necessary scripture (mis)quote to change a doctrine or view. Their helped alot by the power of denial among the rank and file.
There's been many groups before them that either went more mainstream and grew, or became even more ridged and shrank into a small hard core following with little contact outside of their world. -
