I really liked the guy. He had a strong resemblance to a dear uncle of mine. I never felt he was unfair when interviewing guests from opposite sides of the political spectrum.

Agreed. There was more mental stimulation in 10 minutes on Meet the Press than you'd have in your average Public Talk and Watchtower Study combined.
This is very very sad for me. Watching Meet the Press is something I do religiously and enjoyed him so much. His appearances on Don Imus were just great.
GOPHER- Good subject ! Tim Russert was such a great interviewer, political analyst, and just the way he came across, his demeanor showed everything about how to be respectful, inquisitive in a persistent way, but with diplomacy . The guy was very likeable, and I enjoyed listening to him , and watching his takes on things. A very down to earth, real person. He will be greatly missed. I feel for his wife and family
Sunday 10AM, will be missed!
Sunday mornings with Tim Russert were one of my favorite things. A hot cup of coffee, and watching meet the press. I loved his style! It was kind of like going to church on Sundays!!!!! I can't imagine who could possibly replace him.
I am shocked and saddened he will not be here to cover this election. I always looked forward to his viewpoint.
