hi everyone,been looking for some time,decided to register and give a little contribution.everything helps.in the wbts for 15 years,never bought everything ,some things just never clicked,i was "waiting on jehovah"but eventually things just went worst(or better)and stop attending meetings a year ago.my 3 kids (never baptised)could no be happier,wife still going once a week average,but things changed for her too.we're still in good standing,but i'm thinking of da myself,our familyes are all catholic,so no problem with the shunning thing for us.and for the friends in the truth(friends,yeah right)whatever........

I DA'ed myself after 28 years in the inside 4 years ago...like you I only had a hand full of JW cousins that live 2250 miles from me so it was no big deal...My suggestion DO IT...make the letter short and sweet no need to explain anything they don't care about your reasons only their legalize...besides you will be viewed as a lost sheep no matter what you write...Keep it simpe:

"I disassociate myself, I no longer wish to be known as a JW"

Hey...if you have no real family in just give them the FINGER and go... It gets a lot harder for people like me (insert tear ) who have relatives and family in the "truth"

I could go...wife is a lifelong dub™ but what would it do for me? I regard this cult as a mental problem and if my wife has it I will stay with her and try to guide her out of it in teeny tiny steps...will it work....stay tuned..
