I also realize that this board started as a pro-JW board, and it evolved into what it is now. Simon could have pulled the plug when he saw it headed this way, or started making rules that would have held the criticism of the Washtowel Slaveholdery in check. However, at his expense and cost of time, he continued to maintain the board through many a problem.
I myself have seen quite a few times when the board had problems. These were technical in nature, and happened every time he tried upgrading the software. It would repeatedly go down, and these problems had to be addressed. And there have been posters that have showed up to create havoc, usually by bashing everyone and anyone for no reason. I have seen people spoofing usernames, posting porn, and recently posting a link to porn with a virus. Dealing with such people while keeping the good posters content isn't easy, but Simon has persisted and did what he reasonably could to keep the majority of posters happy.
I hope this board is around at least until the Washtowel Slaveholdery dies, and possibly longer. Even after they are gone, people are going to be able to discuss experiences that they had while still in. And, it might just prevent the successor to the witlesses from ever getting off the ground.
