Well this time they're convinced that (in their words) "someone has studied with Drew Carey!" (meaning a JW)

    http://www.servantsnews.com/sn0207/carey.htm

They especially honed in on and got all excited over the subheading "Carey Preaches Bible Truth."

I pointed out that several religions "in Christendom" (using terminology that makes them comfortable) have said similar things concerning Revelations and that many Christian religions recognize that holidays like Easter and Christmas have pagan origins. I also suggested that they not get so excited over stuff like this without investigating it throughly.

But to their eager JW minds, this hinted that Drew Carey has "been witnessed to."

They claim that a friend of theirs has an mp3 of Drew Carey speaking all of this at the White House.

Why is it JW's are so damned impressed with the idea that even a mid-level celebrity might have said something about them, even something neutral. It's like, "See we're not invisible, we really exist! Even Fred Slocum who owns Slocum Chevrolet in Salina, Kansas took a Watchtower and was very nice!" wooo weee! I don't get it. It's just plain pitiful.

    I know what you mean.

They used to hiss when I would play Prince's 1999 album when I was a teenager. Now of course they're all impressed because Prince became a witness and rewrote all his risque songs.

Plus, it seems this happened like 6 years ago, according to that link! The audio is available on YouTube:

On a side note, it seems Drew Carey is engaged to be married to a woman named Nicole Jaracz. LOL.

The JW's say that the information about holidays being pagan is commonly available in encyclopedias. They even quote such encyclopedias in their literature.

If the information is commonly available, then why would Drew Carey have needed to hear it from JW's?

Drew Carey is very vocal about being Republican so it wouldn't be a stretch to think he might be a bit conservative Christian...however the bigger joke is JW's trying to stretch have someone as a spokesperson who isn't whacko.
