I'm new to the site and have been watching my husband (thechickennest) enjoy his time with his "freinds". Hope I do too. Someone I work with told me that a witness told her the reason he came and talked to her was to save himself. So I wonder do witnesses visiting this site to see how much time they can count saving themselves?
Wondering if the witnesses here are counting their time talking to us?

Welcome to the forum, JFL. We've really enjoyed having Chickennest on board, and look forward to having you now too.
You're right about the JW's motivation for preaching -- I heard a circuit overseer saying that "saving me" was reason #1 he went preaching. Reason #2 was to save those who listened.
I'm sure some of the JW's count their time "preaching" on the Internet. A lot of their time report is exaggerated anyhow, so I could easily imagine them counting hours late night here. Maybe the hours are easier than going out in the door-to-door work.

gopher: I'm glad you've enjoyed chickennest. It's been nice to have him get so many of his questions answered and have others listen and relate. It's taken me longer to come around so he has been on his own just biding his time til I've finally come around.
I was raised never to talk to apostates so it's a dangerous way to get your time in. Just suprises me how many witnesses are here.
Thanks for my first response.

Notice to any Jehovah's Witnesses that may read this and wonder:
You have my permission to count this time. Save fuel, stay home this Saturday. Make breakfast for the wife, take the kids to a park. Sleep in. Just by being there you have made it possible for us to change our minds and come back...just maybe.

to JWD!
I think the WTS would frown on the action but of course most of us would be more then happy to assist them in getting FS hours by logging onto this site and reasonably discussing a WT topic. The more the merrier!

I never count my time here (the board itself takes care of that for me). I no longer turn in a time slip in the Kingdumb Hell because I do not want to be Publisher #7,000,000 (and would like to push back having that number as long as possible, or better yet, prevent them from ever reaching that number).
As for how effective it is to witness on this board, I think it is a total waste of time. People here are more likely to see through the deceptions, and just about anyone here could rationally tear apart their stock arguments with ease. They might, however, try that on MySpace--only to have the apostates handily shred their stock arguments every time.

Hey, whatever floats their boat. The majority of people on this forum are ex-witnesses and proud of it. We are happy to be out of that cult.
