Nice graphic yknot. One of those sheep must be thinking about apostatizing. He's not wearing a tie. Is tha a turtle neck sweater?
5th grade level???
My grandson could read much more in depth material in third and fourth grade than this book. The Society has been dumbing down everything for the last few years. New writers? -

If they want 6 year olds to get baptized, then they have to make the littera-trash simple enough for them to read.

Per what Blondie spoke about,
The recent book on the Minor Prophets had little to do with actual prophecy but instead focused on moral and organizational hot topics like Internet Pornography, meeting attendance, and drinking.
This new book is a thinly disguised rule book. It takes the tone of a parent speaking down to a young child.

OK what level of reading is the bible written in? What way did Jesus talk? What is the average reading ability of Americans across the country? And you read the first few pages and Judged!?!?! LOL

:" Americans—of either gender—are reading fewer books today than in the past. A poll released last month by The Associated Press and Ipsos, a market-research firm, found that the typical American read only four books last year, and one in four adults read no books at all. "
that is from a website on reading.
Here is one talking about the fact that help books for people raising kids are written where young parents cant understand them"The average reading level of American parents of young children is 7th or 8th grade, but 80% of pediatric materials for parents are written at the 10th grade level or above"
The fact is, I dont think many people read entire books in a year at all. I can BET you that with blacks and hispanic males under 40 non-students, only 15% black 7% hispanic males read an ENTIRE BOOK a year. WOMEN would be higher but barely. If a person asks a person, do you read books and how many a year, Most will lie so as to not appear stupid. Its like asking a church goer if they have read the whole bible cover to cover, NOT through study, but like a regular book, on their own. MANY will say yes, but the fact is likely no.
All one has to do is look an newspaper and book sales over the years. The short read of the internet is preferred.
So you people talking about a faith that is trying to reach people needs to talk higher, is dumb. They need to talk at the level that the MOST would understand it and want to read it. Meaning Pictures, small words. THATS the world we live in. In schools it is like that. Look at history books from the 50s and one now in school. Today, there are far more pictures.

Heck, I hope not. I read at minimum, a book a week. I was instructed in my writing not to talk down to my audience, to anticipate intelligence. Tell the joke, don't explain it. My writing is clear enough, and people do understand. I think people also, are honored by expecting intelligence.

Maybe somebody like Blondie could prove me wrong on this, but after about 1975 there just did not seem to be much of any of the "deep" style of writing any longer.
Thats because 1975 was the end. Remember???

wha happened?
It was the simple style and simple questions at the bottom of the page that scared the relatives of a friend of mine when she began to study. They felt is was simple repetitive garbage used to control individuals into a cult.
This was in '88. I had no idea how right they were at the time.
